Just hours before Game 1 of the Western Conference finals, the San Antonio Spurs' Kawhi Leonard and Tony Parker stayed unconvinced that Serge Ibaka, the Oklahoma City Thunder's beginning focus, would miss the diversion with a calf damage.

They vocalized their emotions at the pregame shootaround. It appeared to matter little that Scott Brooks, the Thunder mentor, had said (more than once) that there was no chance Ibaka would play. The Spurs were dead set to plan as though Ibaka would rise up out of the tunnel at At&t Center, Willis Reed-style, and plant his 6-foot-10 casing under the wicker container.

Obviously, Ibaka did not play in the Thunder's 122-105 misfortune on Monday. He didn't even make the excursion to San Antonio, where the Spurs  accomplished, insightful and old arrived the first blow in the best-of-seven arrangement. In front of Wednesday's Game 2, the Thunder used much of Tuesday hunting down approaches to make up for Ibaka's unlucky deficiency.
